Want to be a beekeeper in 2018?


Reigate Beekeepers will be running an ‘Introduction to Beekeeping Course’ during the coming winter on Monday evenings.

Commencing 15th January 2018 and running through to 19th March 2018.

Ten Monday evening classroom sessions will cover the theory, followed by Wednesday evening practical training sessions at our apiary during the following month of April.

No prior experience of Beekeeping is required and Bee suits will be provided for use during the practical sessions.

The tutor will be David Rudland, an ex Seasonal Bee Inspector with the National Bee Unit.

The course fee includes course notes and a copy of a respected beekeeping book (title to be confirmed).

  • For the Winter 2018 course, the theory classes are on Mondays 7:30pm to 9:30pm, commencing  January 15th, with the last one on March 19th.
  • Theory classes are held at  the Woodhatch Centre, Whitebeam Drive, Reigate RH2 7LS.
  • The practical sessions will be at our Training Apiary, south of Dorking.
  • Course cost: £150 per person.
