2017 Beginners Course


Reigate Beekeepers are running an ‘Introduction to Beekeeping Course’ during the coming winter on Monday evenings.

Commencing 9th January 2017 and running through to 13th March 2017.

Ten Monday evening classroom sessions will cover the theory, followed by Wednesday evening practical training sessions at our apiary during the following month of April.

No prior experience of Beekeeping is required and Bee suits will be provided for use during the practical sessions. The course fee includes course notes and a copy of the highly regarded book  ‘Starting out with Bees’ by John Williams.

The tutor will be David Rudland, an ex Seasonal Bee Inspector with the National Bee Unit.

  • For the Winter 2017 course, the theory classes are on Mondays 7:30pm to 9:30pm, commencing  January 9th,  with the last one on March 13th.
  • Theory classes are held at  the Woodhatch Centre, Whitebeam Drive, Reigate RH2 7LS.
  • The practical sessions will be at our Training Apiary, south of Dorking.
  • Course cost: £150 per person.
